Hey everyone. Brian here. I have an announcement.
Up till now I've been keeping to a strict posting schedule of one post every weekday, plus some sort of shorter content on Saturdays. Between writing posts, keeping up with e-mail, and various other activities, I've been spending in the neighborhood of 12-15 hours per week on the blog. If that doesn't sound like a lot, consider that I also have a full-time job, karate classes, a novel I'm trying to write, a family and friends who would like to see me on occasion, and delusions of a thing called "free time."
Bottom line, it's just too much.
At the same time, I'm not about to give up on this blog anytime soon, and I would like to give y'all some reason (however small) to keep coming back here every weekday.
With that in mind, here's the new posting schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: Normal post (or as normal as they ever are around here)
Tuesday, Thursday: Haiku (or something else very short)
Saturday, Sunday: Nothing
That's not to say I won't ever post more often than the schedule above, I'm just saying don't expect it.
Will this lose me some readers? Maybe. Hopefully not. But I'm not going to obsess over it - life's too short.
And on the plus side, uh, haiku fans rejoice!

Sargeras' Haiku
Are really incredible
Tom likes to not die. :)
My haiku suck. >.<
Heh, whoops, was reading two posts, wrong post.
Regardless, I totally understand. Real life first. So if you'll excuse me, I have to get off the computer and take over the universe.
(my comedy stinks too)
I had to do the same thing. With my job, class, raiding, plus my social life, it makes it really hard to make any post of sustenance every day of the week like I was initially doing.
You still have a fan in me!
Uh... Brian... is Lord Sargeras okay with this? I mean... he may not be too happy with you slacking off. Look what happened to the Dreadlords on Azeroth for getting a bit lazy. Yeesh.
I think the reason why most people found this place was the chat logs that accidentally got leaked. I, for one, would be more than happy if more chat logs were "leaked", at the expense of some of the other material on here. If one were to introduce a measure here (other than LOBSMAARP), it may be something like 1 chat log equals 7 other posts. Or something. Without sounding too much like some middle-management dweeb, focus on your core competencies. ;)
@ tom: Don't worry, I get excited about the haiku too. ;-)
@ Ariedan: Mutual fanship ftw! If we both slack off, we can't be blamed. :-D
@ Markus: I don't plan to do any more chat logs for a while, actually, if ever. While I agree they were the main draw initially, I think the humor will get stale if I keep doing them over and over. It's hard to keep the humor fresh with "sequels."
Do whatever you need, it's amusing and unique. These are both to be treasured, and if the creator falls over dead from stress and lack of free time, that leads to, you know, NOT having the amusing and unique thing anymore.
Real-life duties (like getting on with destroying insolent planets) before the internet!
@ Red & Arthas: Thanks :-)
@Brian: Suggesting that you can't spend all your free time on WoW related things!? LOBSMAARP: 98%!
In all seriousness, don't burn yourself out.
Dude, there's no pressure. Most blogs I read don't even have an updating schedule, they just update when their author has something to say. Post whenever you want.
Of course I agree with what's been said. I also agree with your humor being taken the 'Python' Way.
For anyone confused, I refer to it as such because the Monty Python group only did skits for as long as they knew it would be fresh and funny (something everyone should do, IMHO).
I was pleasantly surprised that three chat logs were made, and would hate to see them drop in quality. So cheers to you for knowing to do humor the right way.
As for the rest of the blog, Tuesdays and Thursdays are now more exciting. Haiku day indeed.
Yay! More haiku!
(I actually liked the haiku day yesterday)
"And if the creator falls over dead from stress and lack of free time, that leads to, you know, NOT having the amusing and unique thing anymore."
If the creator falls over dead, then the creator would be immortalized in his works, but since Sargeras is already immortal, I say keep writing, because he can't fall over dead!
Flawless logic, I know! :-p
Anyways, definitely RL first! You have a fan here too! Get working on that novel because I want to read it! :-)
And just for sh1ts and giggles, have a few more exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone for your comments! They are very encouraging to read. Now even more than before, this seems like the right decision.
Aww Brian/Sargie, I'll still come everyday. RL does > blogs. Honestly, I'd come back even if you only did every second day. Anythings good for me, love this place. I'd rather have few good ones than too many of you trying to fill them just so you can say you did it
<3 ~~Eyra
Thanks Eyra. :-)
You and Sargie deserve some time off, from your legions of terrified fans! <3 Go, be you, have fun, party!! It's cinco de mayo you know!
@ Leochica: I have heard rumors to that effect. ;-)
Horray for poets
For there will be more poems
From lord Sargeras
